Do we really want to play more Call Of Duty? I know it sounds like a simple question? For me, I wouldn’t have to think about it. I have played this game since the first one was released and I want more call of duty, many other people would agree with me on this. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 gave us and I am looking forward to the next ones to follow after.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 hasn’t made any grand changes to what worked in the past such as “Zombies” which first appears, Call of Duty World At War and after appears in Call of Duty Black Ops which I was glad to see back. In this you kill other nationalities’ zombies such as American on “Five” which is set in the Pentagon and Japanese’s zombies on Shi No Numa but in Modern Warfare they made a really nice adjustment on it called “Survival” where you go face to face with zombies but you go against wave after wave of people with guns which I have wanted to see since the first appearance of “zombies”.
There are many more things that can be said of course many more gamers will know. Now I will move on to Call of Duty Modern warfare 3 single player campaign. I found my self being annoyed with this game due to it not seemingly being that well thought out. This was due to the lack of action and movement. It seemed to make you wait in a fixed position sequence or sitting in a vehicle, “jump into a helicopter and shoot its gun for a few minutes” or a hold position by firing this mounted gun till the helicopter arrives”. Also the missions where you are moving around you always have to follow another soldier around. It felt as though they don’t trust you. It has a lack of new ideas making it not as good as the other call of duty’s, where at least they had a few missions where you had to think for yourself. The footage as you go through the campaign make you want to carry on playing as the footage makes the campaign look more interesting than it really is.
Last of all I will have to talk about my favourite bit of the game the multiplayer online that has been favourite bit throughout all of call of duty. It is my favourite bit only because you get to kill other players across the world on a different mode. All the same setup throughout all shoot them up games like team death match, free for all, capture the flag and many more. Call of Duty has a different way of rewarding killstreaks (kill other people without dying), which has had a big change to it since the last call of duty. You can pick killstreak packages for each different player whilst you are on this game. If you’re likely to die or help your team out then support package will be the one for you. The good bit about this is your killstreak doesn’t reset once you die giving you more chance of helping your team. If you a kill as many people without hardly dying then assault package is for you which will help you kill more players what are hiding on the other team like attacker helicopter and predator missile and many more. Also the specialist package for the advance player where the rewards come in different perks (perks are like fast reload and run faster and many others) but the additional perks last until your death. The package I use which I shouldn’t really say being a big fan of call of duty I shouldn’t be saying it but it has to be the support for me. For some reason I just seem to die or its probably because I am the mad man with the machine gun so because I mostly die it has to be support. I do get some nice rewards on it like recon drones which is a remote control helicopter with a camera but you get to help your team mates find the opposite team member with it and tagging them. So your team mate can find them and it also helps you rank up. The last call of duty was where you could pick which killstreak packages you wanted. It basically was the assault package so I welcome this new system.
The other feature on multiplayer for call of duty, which has appeared from call of duty 4 Modern Warfare 1 and throughout the call of duties after. Many of them are still the same throughout the games. It’s just the game has changed. Your allowed to choose only 3 to help you with the multiplayer while some perks are available initially. Whilst others are unlocked as you rank up. There are 15 perks and they are divided into 3 sections. The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 pro peck (upgrade perk) system works how it is in Modern Warfare 2 and black ops you have to do specific challenges.
Now finally the very last feature I will be talking about will be the maps on the multiplayer they range from small map to large and places and range on different settings. One is set in a German shopping centre, which is amazing on search and destroy and another one set in a small construction site. This is a very fast paced game, intense and many more maps. But the one I like the most is set in London’s underground where you can fight inside and outside. It is also good if you enjoy a fast paced action.
Overall one of the best war games of last year. Even taking all the bad points the single player campaign but the main bit of this game has to lie in the online multiplayer. This is where most people are found. I am definitely looking forward to the next instalment of Call of Duty just hoping the campaign is a lot better than next time.
